A revisit to the monster of Sussex. Colossus of the South, Brighton's biggest and certainly one of, if not the best system in the south of England.   .....

Finally some sewerfresh. I was beginning to think the Canadian people didn't need to poop. Oh well, onwards to the next steaming manhole.   .....

This was it, the time was finally upon us. Five years of waiting and finding funds to get to Canada had paid off. Lets begin shall we? Rankine.   .....

So here we have our next drain of the trip, Humble Howard. Not much to say about this one really, which is surprising given its size. Waders on, onwards to the steaming manhole.

Howard is a mix of brick and concrete sewers, relief's, overflows and storage tanks of old and new. From what i saw Howard is primarily a storm relief, bone dry for the majority. Although having only visited a small section i could, and probably am wrong. The rest however is steamy freshness that Londoners have come to love, the brick walls covered in the nastiest snot looking substances I've ever seen. Actually now i think about it, it reminded me of the goo stuff that always seems to be attached to the meat in a can of spam.

We spent a few hours in the drain taking photos here and then, sadly due to misting problems i only came out with three. Oh well better luck next time.
