First off I cant believe how much stuff was left in situ in this place, It really was a gold mine of treasures. Brain samples. Operation registers, patient documents, death certificates the lot!.
I headed up on the train with LittleElvis and we met up with Lesbub who turned out to be a nice guy and has to this day stuck with exploring :)
First stop was the morgue. I think this was my first mortuary that I had been in which still had its slabs so I was pleased when we opened the door to find three white jems staring back at me. I did what everyone does and took a photo of myself lying on the slab. It felt like cheating death. Who else is going to be on these more then once in your lifetime :).
We headed up into the main buildings. Due to the broken windows everywhere there was a lot of pigeons and they had made a mess of things. First thing we found was drawer after drawer of brain samples. Kept in old cigar tins which I thought was comedy.
Onward onto the roof to see the views then back down and along to the wards. There was soo much in there beds and everything we had a little clear up in one of the wards to make it a little bit more photo friendly. then continued downstairs to see what else we could find. In one room we found masses of books and patient documents but due to it being locked couldnt get in to read them.
Outside the sun was setting with a bright red glow so we headed to the top floors to get some photos then headed off back to catch our trains.
Good explore and was nice to meet lesbub.
