An impenetrable fortress, one with no time for the doubters and naysayers. Protected by many hotels, embassies and the rich.
It wasn't going to be easy

Another one from my scotland excursion with lost. Although the main part of the hospital is stripped its still a great place to look around as it has character. Unlike the similar stripped severalls. The hospital boasts a few large towers and until recently had a main hall which is now demolished.

Access from the ground floor is a bit of a problem and security is present although we saw the guy driving from point a to b then sitting in his car and reading the paper. At one point we walked right past him and he didnt batt and eye.

After getting into the buildings we had a breif wonder around the lower levels taking a few pictures before working our way up to the towers.

On the way we passed an "emergency access passage" which cut straight through the main section of the building which was quite interesting. After a bit of door checking we found the one to the tower. My god there were a lot of pigeons in there. It felt like I was poking my head slowly over the top of a foxhole with the fear of being shot. But by pigeons. After a bit of tripod waving we worked our way up to the top. A quick lift and the hatch was open.

The view over the bay and inverness was amazing and was the perfect place just to chill out if you were bored. It was raining so pictures were a bit of a pain. We did the best we could then headed back down and along to the converted middle section.

What was once a large room had been cut up into severall smaller, bunk style rooms for patients and didnt leave much to the imagination. There wasnt much left to see after this so we headed out and into the boiler house and engineering.

Again access was a major pain but we got in after a while. And it was definitely worth it. All the bits and bobs that had been stripped from the main building had just been chucked in here. Everything was in here, documents, map, the radio system the nurses and doctors would have used all the way down to the old tv's.

We spent a good 40 minutes just looking through the treasures before we headed out and back to the car.
