Ive wanted to see hartwood for some time now I first saw a picture of the two towers about 5-6 months prior and since then I had to visit it. I had left it a bit late as the main hall had been burned but luckily we got there before the towers were wrecked.
We passed hartwood on the way back from a failed oil rig trip so we thought it rude not to stop by. It had been raining hard so everything was soaked. Oh well no problem.
After a breif walk over a few field we came to the battered fence. A quick walk up an down and we were in. We headed towards the main hall as that was a easy way into everything else. Sadly it was burned but it did give some interesting views of the two towers up through the charred skeletal remains.
We headed into the main building and came to a series of junctions. With large carved ceilings. Lost had told me about a video recording studio that they had used before the hospital closed so we went to find that. It was a little dissapointing as most of the good things had since been removed but we found a few old school cameras. Where next?
We had a quick visit to the sewing area then headed up the two towers. Wow. The clock device was amazing. Still intact and the clockfaces still there and not too badly damaged We climbed both towers took a few photos then headed off down to the mortuary.
This is where the trouble started......
We got in easily enough through a open window, and found a lead slab and body fridges complete with bloody rags. Nice. We heard some noises outside and listened carefully to hear "ive found a bag outside the mortuary". I looked at ridds then to lost to see his face completly white. He had only gone and left it outside. We had to give ourselfs up.
It turns out the security guard was a complete scottish cock. He thought he had power he didnt have.
Hear got his phone and shouted to the person on the other end.
"Ive got three people and im putting em under citizens arrest".
In a comedy scottish accent. When we tried to get close to understand what the hell he was talking about he shouted
"Dont git in meee spacccceeee, if you come in meee spacce wir gunna have a problem".
We were escorted off the site and into the arms of two policemen who seemed to be pretty much on our side waving the guard off with a "ok go away" attitude. After a quick bag and car search and a few questions on why we were looking at abandoned buildings we were let go.
Excellent site shame we didnt see it all.
