Middleton is the only underground limestone mine in the UK. Situated in outskirts of Derbyshire there is only one thing to say about it, its huge. ..

Its a tunnel, it runs underneath london for a few hundred meters. Its wet, theres nothing in it. Good fun then?. Meh probably i guess. ..

From the darkest depths of the Stockholm metro comes a tale of downright stupidity. This is the last time i listen to someone who was born in Sweden ..

This is so far probally one of the most interesting and feature packs sites ive been to. It was a seminary for training monks and was ridiculous in size.

As soon as it was discovered we wasted no time in heading up there. Visited with The Riddlers on our northern road trip.

The site is very well protected with cameras all around and the caretaker living 1 minute away at the entrance to the site and not to mention its alarmed. We had no problem getting in. And already having just set foot i was amazed.

We started walking around completly dazzled by the architecture and design of the place. Statues of the virgin mary and crosses with jesus on littered the site. The first room we came to held a full size snooker table with the balls still sitting on the table collecting dust.

Up the stairs we came to an infirmary with hospital beds and sheet dividers making cubicles for those who were recovering there. At the end of the room was some kind of bank. A safe with hundreds of coin holders and money bags lay open, all the coins had been removed though. We did howvever find stone wax stamps on the shelfs some dating as far back as 1769!!!!.

We continued onwards and came to a long stretch of room with a square cross ceiling. A few photos we walked through and came to a stairway leading up to a minature chapel. Round the corner we headed up the stairs into the attics which ran the length of the building. And found a spiral staircase up into the observatory!.

Back down we walked along and came to a library. Now this place was incredible the shelfs still stacked with latin books on religion dating back as far as the 15th century. The images and pictures in some of the books of crows and people being burned must have represented the afterlife for sinners. It really was something else. Up onto the roof for view. Wow! words couldnt describe it. Incredible.

We headed downstairs and long to go to the clock tower. After a brief climb we stood beside the fading clock device and looked up to the three bells hanging overhead. How could this site get any better?

While on the roof we saw a semi detacted building which looked like a church. so we headed for that. While on the floor we opened a door to see a redblip in front of us....Woops. We heard the alarm go but wasnt leaving without seeing that room. We ran as fast as we could into the chapel, and our jaws dropped. IT was stunning almost as grand as a catherderal, everything remained intacts. The seats with the plagues of the seat owner name above it, the organ, the roof, the stained glass. I got as many photos as i could before we had to leave. We couldnt get caught now.

We ran back to our exit and back towards the car. The alarm still sounding.

Just one word to sum St Jospehs really. Incredible.
