After a failed trip to Stone House Asylum just down the road we decided to pay a little trip here. Located in Bexleyheath, Splashworld was a smallish swimming baths and gym before closing in early 2005. Most bits remain intacts and the only people who seem to have been it were people looking for stuff to steal as there isnt too much damage inside.

Getting in was fun we found a open window which dropped down into the most unstable toilet in the world it barely took our weight as we climbed down into the locker room. Once everyone was in we headed into the pool area. This room consisted of three pools for different age groups a paddling pool for children and then a smaller pool and large pool for the adult. The larger pool was a bit disgusting all over the edges small cockroachs scurried about. At the far end a small diving frame stood inplace. I climbed up for a few pictures before we headed into the gym and reception area.
There was lots of bits and pieces still in situ from when it was in use. Such as swimming medal and awards and many floats and armbands. I am proud to say i now have a 1 mile swim badge. We headed upstairs to the tiny gym which didnt have anything of interest in apart from a few toys. Oh well.
We headed back to the locker room took a few photos then headed back to the car. |
