Located in Dartford next to the mothballed Dartford power station which is currently on reserve this was an unexpected explore and turned out to be very interesting.
Acess to the site is a pain as its in the middle of a load of other working bits and bobs so no matter how you approach it youll be seen by someone. With thanks to Robsey and Peroxide for the info on the place we managed to get in and found ourselves starting at a huge room with what appeared to be part of the deathstar being worked on!.
We headed along and down to take a closer look. Apparantly its a model of what the core of a nuclear reactor would look like and they were doing stability and stucture tests on it. In the next room across was a model of sizewells core and a large viewing room like you see in the movies with all the scientists wearing white coats and black goggles.
From hear we headed up onto the roof for views of the dartford bridge and the powerstation. As it was a nice day we stayed up there for a while before headed back down and in.
Final stop was the last remaining building which was the same as the first one but held 6 of the deathstar shards. With a large heavy load crane towering above them all. We spent a while here taking pictures before we headed back to the car and off for some food. |
