Londons monster brewery. Located over in Park Royal it was a bit of a just made it just missed it. As guinness had just made there product "brewered in dublin" everything else had to go meaning the loss of hundreds of jobs.
Visited with Robsey after a long chat convincing him to go.
We parked up and headed through a open gate at the bottom of the site. The brewery had security so we had to be quick and ran for the buildings. Found an open window and climbed in. We were currently in the laboratory/vat house. We stood staring at the huge vat containers as we walked above them Taking pictures of these were hard as i forgot my torch. Woops. Back into the laboratories to find stacks of old records and id cards from former workers.
We were about to walk out when halfway out the door a van screeched past and a bit further along handbrake turned. Crap!. We ran upstairs as fast as we could thinking we had been seen. We got to a window to see the van doing turns and powerslides in the wet carpark. They hadnt seen up but good to see security was doing there jobs well.
We waited for the van to go before we continued along the buildings and into the next buildings. It was just a bunch of offices but the downstairs section held the legendary vodka room. We follow signs which said "offlimits to workers" and eventually found it. All the decent vodka had been stolen by the explorers who found it unsurprisinly and all that remained were hundred of bottles of smirn off ice.
On we went to the next building which was currently being demolished, this was cool in itself as it gave views of the brewery through the giant holes in the walls!. We headed up to the roof to take pictures of the overall site then began to head back as it was getting late and we had been in there for almost 6 hours. |
