An impenetrable fortress, one with no time for the doubters and naysayers. Protected by many hotels, embassies and the rich.
It wasn't going to be easy

So here we are, back in the UK. With nothing on the cards for Europe its time to catch up on the backlog, starting with the London Olympic Stadium ..

Another site visited on the 06 road trip.

I think we had made it just in time as there were signs of builders beginning to move in. Walls had been sprayed with directions of what to remove and what to keep.

We parked at the bottom of the path and after a brief walk we arrived at the site. The fence was in a bad way and was definantly not looked after there were holes everywhere in it so getting in was not a problem. Same went for getting into the buildings everything was open.

Compared so some asylums it was a very small one. The buildings were very compact and it didnt appear to have any of the outlandish victorian features the others had such as a Water tower or Chapel.

The natural decay was fantastic however the paint peeling off the walks mixed in with the sunlight streaming through the broken windows was fantastic. A few photos in the out buildings and what could have been a small main hall and chapel and we headed into the main sections.

The building itself was very stripped due to being prepared for work, with emergency lighting rigged up around the upper levels. There wasnt too much to photograph so we headed out and headed towards the mortuary. This was very sealed and we tried everything to get in, we even tried a roof space assault which sadly failed. One for another time.

We headed back to the car and continued on our trip
