The "B" List ers. Don't ask why. Some of them are good enough to challenge any of the other sites we visited. But for some reason, just never got round to being added. Its now too late for a complete page. It was so long ago my only reference for what happened during each site is the pictures. So frankly its going to have to be good enough for you too. Maybe one day it will return in a dream. But for now you'll have to make do.
"Hazard Cheratte" - The weather gods were angry. The rain lashed down on the car, black clouds looming overhead, and the sun nowhere to be seen. I don't know what we did wrong but whatever it was, we really pissed of the fella's in the clouds. Nevertheless we stood outside our next target, Hasard Cheratte. (Gallery)
"Theatre Varia" - I've been fascinated with this place ever since a saw the short film "Tatty Tales". A old theatre, in the balance between being rescued or abandoned forever. Its life hanging in the balance over money. (Gallery)
"Transfo Power" - A complete and utter bastard. I thought we had problems at Beringen. Currently being converted into a museum and offices, the power station also serves as a use for a children's activity centre which has been built in the grounds. And wouldn't you know it, the day we arrive both builders and children are on site to ruin our day. (Gallery)
"Churches, Mmmm" - A few little side excursions we embarked on while waiting for the big fish to come. One at night for a bit of a rooftop adventure. And one during the day after some very comedic blagging to a concerned local. "You know technically its not abandoned, it just hasn't been used for 8 years". Ha. (Gallery 1 , 2)
"Locomotive Graveyard" - The final "wildcard" for the Belgium trip. A bloody train graveyard, and a big one at that. The sun was out we had nothing else planned so we relaxed, hopping from train to train and chilling on the tops of once mighty engines. (Gallery)
So long Belgium, until when next we meet!
