We sat at the metro stop, totally exhausted from the night’s activities and a day of being lame tourists. I felt like spreading out a nearby paper and going to sleep right there, but we had one more goal to achieve, the Williamsburg bridge.
| So here with have the Heron Tower, a new skyscraper for London’s financial district. With a height of 230m upon completion, 202m excluding the spire it is now the second highest building in the United Kingdom (1 Canada Square still retaining 1st place) The night was coming to a close, the sun teasing the horizon. Much like vampires sunlight is detrimental to a tunnel rats health. It was no longer safe for us to roam the streets, our playtime atop the structures of Paris over. We retreated back to the underground, our safe haven to wait out the [...] There’s just something about theme parks, i love them, to a degree. Roller-coasters, swinging ships, rapids, the perfect way to spend a summers day when you find yourself with a little spare cash. The rides that propel you too high speeds in a matter of seconds, leaving both your insides and contents of your bowel [...] St Mary’s Station opened in 1884 and served the Hammersmith & City and District lines. The station closed in 1938 due to the closer relocation of Aldgate East. The station building was destroyed in 1940 when it was hit by a bomb during WWII. During the war the St Mary’s was converted into air-raid shelters, [...] For me this was the end of the line, the trains sliding doors were open and we were at my stop. With the driver signaling he was about to depart i stepped off, the small taste of the London underground unforgettable. Thankfully however the final stop just so happened to be the deepest station London [...] |
