Ever wondered just how it is you get your power, your water, your gas? Probably not, most people don’t, many only taking interest when something goes wrong, a short-out killing their xbox, ruining their chances of ”pwning newbs”. But for those who do care, which i assume is the reason your here, take note.

There currently sits a spiders web of interlocking, stand-alone and mini-point tunnels, stretching the width of London. Its nerve system if you will. A lucky dip, random assortment of high voltage noodles, hidden from sight, crawling, twisting and bending their way beneath the streets along rarely seen brick tunnels.

For a while, anything to do with the power network was marked as a no-no. Previous run ins with the national grid pretty much ruled out ever venturing into their domain again. The GLC subways however, aren’t really run by anyone. I’m sure the local councils still technically own them, but with every private electrical, gas and heating company possessing keys and legitimate reasons to access them, its difficult to point a finger at someone and say your not supposed to be here. At least, that’s what we hoped.

With over 25 regional ”known” subways, many of them visited, it would be impossible, and quite frankly boring for me to spiel out the adventures within each. The pipe subways, as fascinating as they are, have one major downside. They largely all look the same. I know that might sound ironic coming from a person who spends 80% of his time wading the unchanging network of london’s sewers, but at least there you get the occasional shape change and variation. As such instead of words, accept pictures. After all, there a lot more interesting.
